Obituary of Jack Kahn

Jack Kahn, formerly of Ridgefield and Stewartsville, NJ passed away peacefully March 3, 2022 with his loving wife and family by his side.  He was the beloved husband to Lorrie and adored Dad to Susan (Michael DiPrimo), Karen (Brad Countryman) and Rebecca (Danny Guss) and Grampy to Jessica, Matthew, Kylie, Kacey and Jacob.

Jack was born in the Bronx in 1931 and married his love Lorrie in 1955.  Together they had three children.  He got his wish to become a “Girl Dad” to Susan, Karen and Rebecca.

Jack had a wonderful 90 plus years.  He worked as a taxi driver meeting lots of interesting people on the way.  When retirement came, the fun began.  Lots of time to spend with the family he loved and that gave him his greatest joy.  Endless games of steal the old man’s bundle and go fish with the grandkids – and Rummikub with Lorrie and his daughters. 

He and Lorrie were snowbirds for over 20 years and loved their time in Florida.  He was also an active member of the ROMEO club (Retired Older Men Eating Out). 

 Jack enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, playing poker with his friends and any game involving words.

Our world revolved around our Dad and he knew it.  He lived a happy life surrounded by his family and his life was filled to the brim with love.

A celebration of his life is planned for the spring.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
