Obituary of Suzanne Donovan

In Memory of Suzanne Donovan 4/10/37 – 1/9/22 Suzanne “Sue” Donovan, 84, a Bernardsville resident for many years, was called home to the Lord on January 9, 2022. Sue enjoyed sailing, golf, knitting sweaters for her grand babies and great grandbabies, watching old movies and singing – especially Broadway show tunes and classics from the 40’s and contemporary artists like Billy Joel. She loved attending her grand-children’s band concerts, musical theatre performances, and sporting events. She had the warmest smile and the best hugs. She often sent cards or small gifts to make her loved ones happy and brighten their day and to let them know she was thinking about them. She touched everyone with her love. One of her favorite Bible verses was: “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31 Sue is survived by her devoted husband Jack of 48 years, daughter Beth Heine of Boca Raton, Florida, daughter Mimi Rhoden and husband Jeff of St. Augustine, Florida, son Jay Winder and wife Paula of Bridgewater, New Jersey, daughter Meg Skerchak and husband John of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, stepdaughters Anne Mary Fellin and husband John of North Plainfield, New Jersey and Susan Varnas and husband Bill of Morris Township, New Jersey and her precious pups Bailey and Belle. She is also survived by her brother Bill Krist of Syracuse, New York and her sisters-in-law Joan Krist of Syracuse, New York and Pat Simonutti of Bayville, New Jersey and several nieces and nephews. Sue was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy. Memorial Mass will be held on February 5, 2022 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 111 Claremont Rd., Bernardsville, NJ 07924. Following the service Sue will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sue’s memory may be made to St. Jude at www.StJude.org.
