Obituary of Edgar L Hoag
Edgar L. Hoag IV
Mary 2, 1940 – April 20, 2017
Edgar "Ted" Hoag IV died early Thursday Morning April 20th after a brief illness.
Born May 2nd, 1940 in Philadelphia, Ted was a long-time member of the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Choir and a well-known and well-loved member of the community.
Recently, his love for Information Technology and his desire to contribute brought him out of retirement to help the Audubon Society develop their IT department. He loved learning and sharing what he knew. He was enjoying his time with his grandson, Wilson, on the beaches of Duxbury, Massachusetts and Cape Cod.
He was ready to celebrate his 77th birthday on May 2nd and he was looking forward to attending the 60th anniversary of his Haverford School's participation in the 1957 Henley Royal Regatta in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, England this summer.
He is survived by his wife Susan Hoag (née Lobb), daughter Laura Hoag Hay and her husband Alex and their son Wilson, and his son Charlton and his wife Alyson and their two children Zach and Quinn. Ted is also survived by his sister, Suzanne (Sandi) Ippolito and her husband, Lou, and their children Karen, Rusty, Teddy and Cat and their families.
Ted's Memorial Service will be held Friday April 28th at 11am at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church at 1 East Oak Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ted's memory to either The Friends of Music of The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1 East Oak Street, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 or The Haverford School Rowing Endowment at The Haverford School, 450 Lancaster Ave, Haverford, PA 19041.
