Obituary of Edna M LaVecka

Edna Mary LaVecka, 94 formerly of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully on February 14, 2017 at her home in Alexian Village, Signal Mountain, TN. Edna worked as an Administrative Assistant for the General Motors Corporation for over 30 years. Edna was a devout Catholic and after her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to many Europe's sacred religious sites. Her most recent trip was a pilgrimage to EWTN in Irondale, Alabama. Edna also loved the arts, classical music and opera. Her favorite song was "The Impossiable Dream". Edna leaves behind her beloved friend Dolly Malit of NJ, many friends and the loving and devout nursing staff of Alexian Village and wonderful staff of the Hearth Hospice. Edna was a true Christian as shown through her giving and loving heart and will be greatly missed by her friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, from 9:30-10:30am. Following the visitation will be the Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, 11:00am. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
