Obituary of Marion DePoortere

Marion dePoortere, 83, passed away on February 11, 2017 at Morristown Medical Center. Mrs. dePoortere was born in Merick, Long Island to Orville Williams and Johanna Schmidt and resided the majority of her life in Basking Ridge, NJ where she worked as a Crossing Guard for 51 years. Marion is survived by her loving husband, Richard dePoortere of 64 years, her children, Richard Jr., Kathleen, Christopher, Patrick and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Maryann, Ruth, Amanda, Jesse, Nicole, Kristin, Alex and Dana Marie, and great grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler and James and one sister Carol Harmon. She was predeceased by her son Stephen and granddaughter Naomi. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, 2/17/2017 11:00am at the Church of St. James, 184 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 2/16/2017 4-7PM at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Interment will be private.
