Obituary of Jeanette M Neri

Jeanette Maria Neri (nee' Alfano) Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Jeanette graduated from East Side high school in Newark Suma Cum Laude and then attended Rutgers Douglass College in New Brunswick, on a full scholarship graduating with a Major in Teaching and Child Psychology. She met and married her lifelong love, husband Frederick, and lived in Newark briefly, before moving to Union, NJ 53 years ago. Her teaching career for the Township of Union spanned 23 years, where she was a beloved teacher known by many in the town. She was married to her husband Frederick J. Neri Sr. for 46 years, until he passed in 2007. She then moved to Basking Ridge NJ, where she has lived for the last 10 years. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by her sister, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, daughter Joan Belardo (nee' Neri) (John P. Belardo, Esq.) and son Frederick J. Neri Jr. (Elizabeth P. Neri), grandchildren Jennifer Ann Belardo, James N. Belardo, Elisa M. Neri, & Frederick J. Neri III, beloved sisters Gloria Vazzano & Michelle Fasone, and brother Michael Alfano. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, from 4:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, 10:00 at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ.
