Obituary of Paul S Nix

Paul Stemen Nix, Jr. of Basking Ridge and formerly of Summit, NJ passed away at home on November 24, 2016. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he moved multiple times as a child and was valedictorian of two high schools before attending Cornell University. After graduating from Cornell, he was employed as a chemical engineer for 30+ years with Mobil Oil's International Division. Paul enjoyed music and sang in various choral groups over the years: Cornell Glee Club, Summit Presbyterian Church Choir, Maplewood Glee Club, and Fellowship Village Chorus. He was a long-time member of the Henry George School and served as its treasurer for many years. Paul was an avid curler with the Plainfield Curling Club and was president for two years. During his retirement Paul volunteered for multiple groups, including the Morris County Canal Society and the Red Cross. Paul is survived by his wife Joan, to whom he was married for 65 years, and three children: Paul Stemen Nix III and his wife Barbara of Colts Neck; Stephen Nix and his wife Jane of Denville; and Peter Nix and his wife Joan of Mountain Lakes. He also leaves five grand children and one great grand child. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00am at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge.
