Obituary of Audrey M Krauss

Audrey M. Krauss, 93 passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. Beloved wife of George, daughter of George L. and Bessie Shupp. Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1923, Audrey was raised in Philadelphia where she graduated from Germaintown High in 1940 and spent her next years in NE Pennsylvania. In July, 1945 she married George Krauss and moved back to Philadelphia where she gave birth to their two sons, Geoff in 1946 and Bob in 1950. Following her husbands career advancement, she moved to Basking Ridge, NJ in 1955 where she spent the remainder of her life. Mrs. Krauss was a life long member of the Morristown Memorial Hospital Volunteer Corp. where, for nearly 50 years she was awarded for her skills at communicating with patients and families alike. When not volunteering, she could be found knitting clothes, afgans, or playing bridge, with various foursomes who became her cherished "bridge ladies". Her most special times in life came with a group of bridge housewives who called themselves "the magnificent seven" this fun group would travel to various 2nd homes around the country for weekend "bridge-ins" several times a year for over 40 years. With only her dear friend Anne Ryan remaining, this group included Mary Streep, mother of actress Meryl Streep and was the source of her greatest joys away from her family. Audrey is survived by her son Bob, daughter in law Sonia Krauss and her family, granddaughter Jennifer Greco, great granddaughters Valentina and Catarina Greco and their father Robert and his family; nieces Lee Kingham and her son Zak, Lynne Kingham and her spouse Paula Boykin, Dr. Dee Krauss, Betty Jane Berberian and her husband Jon and their twins John and Karl, and nephew Tim Kingham. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 1014 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
