Obituary of Charles D Taylor

Charles (Chuck) D. Taylor of Morristown, NJ passed peacefully on April 30, 2016. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 9 Church Street, Bernardsville, NJ 07924. Chuck was born August 7, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. He lived there with his parents, Albert and Violet Whitmore Taylor, brother Albert and sister Marilyn. After 4 years in Navy, Chuck decided to leave Navy and work for AT&T. Like everyone on a career path at Ma Bell, Chuck Taylor got enough opportunities to satisfy even his desire to see new places, and he had the makings of a fine company man. Last position was in CFO. After a 30-year career with AT&T, he spent the next 20 or so years as a management consultant. He traveled to Italy where he lived for 3 years while opening and making operational an office in Rome for a large US consultant company with no previous international presence. He started his own consulting firm, and traveled regularly to places like Zurich, London, Milan, Finland, and Dubai. Chuck's passion was truly 'the art of the deal'. In April 2015, his wife and Chuck began their fight against a darkness that would have its prize. It was that uncompromising tenacity that gave us all another year with a remarkable man. He was survived by his wife (Machiko), his daughter (Kathy), his son (Dan), his daughter-in-law (Beatrice), his grandson (Kyle), his sister (Marilyn Danzig), his sister-in-law (Miyako) and her husband (Kazuya), his nieces (Aiko) and (Shoko). In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care, in Morristown Medical Center, in memory of Charles D. Taylor.
