Obituary of Rita Quade

Rita Quade was born in Irvington N.J. on October 8, 1922 and entered Heaven's gates on April 14, 2016. She was the daughter of Michael and Esther Kaiser. Rita was married to Robert Quade who preceded her in death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brother Jerome, and sisters Catherine Brewer and Evelyn Kaiser and granddaughter Ashley Quade. She will be missed by her children; James, Christopher and Corey along with daughter in law Kate Wilhere and grandchildren Jessica Quade, Caitlin Quade, Tyrus Quade, Sean Quade and great grandson Alex Quade. Rita was raised in Irvington N.J. and studied piano at the Newark Conservatory of Music. She enjoyed playing the piano her entire life. During WWII she served in the U.S. Navy as a WAVE. Rita had a passion for writing and worked as a journalist for the Bernardsville News. After retirement she wrote articles for the New York Times. She also enjoyed oil painting and the opera. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Gladstone and sang in the choir of St. Bernard's Episcopal Church. Rita was proud of her Irish ancestry and was a longtime advocate of Irish independence. She was an adoring, protective mother and grandmother who lent her support and love unselfishly. Her memory will always bring smiles. Funeral Services will be private for the family. Arrangements are being handled by Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home.
