Jay was a wonderful man with a very sweet personality. I enjoyed our time together at the NJ Foundation for the Blind where he gave of himself in a joyful manner to spread the word about the good work of our organization. He will always remain in my memory as an outstanding example of a "people person." My condolences to his wife and extended family at this difficult time.

Jay and I had been friends from the day we came to this country. That was in August 1969. Since then we also worked together at different companies for 30 years. He was not just a great friend, he was more than a brother to me. His guidance and help, both personally and professinally will never be forgotten. Jay was a great family man, kind, compassionate, helpful and generous. He was always full of life. He will be greatly missed.

We lost a great friend who was there whenever you need. He could make you laugh with his special way of smiling and loud laughter. We conssider ourselves as fortunate to him and his family as our family friend. Here are few lines in our mother tongue I composed ;
Ankh num hai, dil ghamzidda hai , janntey hai keh woh kaun aur Kya thaa
Such to yeh hai keh Innsan ke roop main woh ek farishtta thaa
Jis pay tum ummeed itbarr kar sakattey ho , woh aissa kandha thaa
Zurrrorat main ek awazz do to woh sab kuchh chhorkey wahan thaa

There are not enough words in the dictionary to express the sadness that you must feel. Its one of lifes most unexplainable feelings- of loss, sadness, anger, and sudden sense of loneliness. My family and I can only offer you our most sincerest love, and support.
I would like to share some of my thoughts- It was a while after my dad told me about Uncle passing- still in shock and saddened- All I could remember was his charisma, his love for life, his love for his beautiful wife and children. The apple of his eyes were his beloved grandchildren- there is a little something in each and everyone one of you that will forever live on-- he was always smiling and such a gentle soul at heart-- and that how I remember uncle...what a wonderful person....Am soo sorry for your loss....but always remember him fondly!!

Passing of J Gulati is one sad event in my life. I always looked forward and depended on his regular phone calls and frequent get together luncheons /w few others, especially George Braulke who always used to be there. It made you feel special when he ‘d open his mind to you during these phone chats. There are many other fond memories I will cherish and keep in my ‘deep’ to recall and reminisce over later in their pleasantness.
The inevitable has happened! Pray God provide solace to his family to cope with this loss.

I have very fond memories of Gulati Saheb of past 33 years. He got me started in nuclear power industry. He would often stop by my office in Burns and Roe when he knew that I have returned from Canada, and chat for few minutes, always respecting my time. But his visits were not just limited to me. It seemed like he knew everybody around, especially Reggie Gagliardo, my boss. They worked together in 80s at Oyster Creek and I believe also at TMI nuclear plant. It seemed like he never forgot anyone he met. Others would not seem to remember him, but when he approached them in the corridor with his very soft smile; he would remember the time he would have met them, their time together and in many case their spouses names. People always wondered how he could remember all those names.
Always with a soft pleasant smile, Gulati saheb, will be remembered by many for his kindness and charities. I will personally miss him a lot!!
May Lord rest his soul in peace.

We have known Asha and Jay for some 25 GREAT years!
Some people talk about trying to find something nice to say - Jay lived it! Jay always had a way of finding something good about everything. We especially enjoyed hearing Jay talk about enjoying "today", since tomorrow is only a hope - Jay's L 1 and L 2...
We will miss these talks but his outlook on life will be remembered for years to come. Jay was a true friend and we will miss him.

Dear Asha:
The loss of a partner of almost fifty years is devastating. Your two children and five grandchildren will help over the coming months.
Though I met you both only twice but I was impressed by his friendliness and his stories. I was looking forward to hearing more of Jatinder's life observations in future when we met again. Alas the loss is mine. I will miss his expansive and generous personality too.
If there is anything my wife Meeta and I can do please do not hesitate to call on us.

Kanta and I have sustained a profound loss with the passing of Jatinder Gulati. We had known him and Asha since 1972, have seen their sons grow up, get married and have their own children. While his passing is untimely and we are the poorer for the loss, we take comfort that he was blessed with a great family and friends, led a full life, and we will always cherish our friendship and wonderful times together. Our condolences and sympathies to Asha and the entire family and may his soul rest in peace!

Jay was a wonderful man, and I will always have great respect and admiration for him. He and I were long time, very close friends and treated each other like brothers. I know of no one that had a bigger heart than Jay. Nor a better philosophy of being: enjoy life, treat other people well, help those less fortunate, work hard, and thank God for the the life he has given us, particularly the joys of being with family and friends.
We worked together at GPU for many years and while he taught me a lot about project management, more importantly he taught me about life by his example. Even after we left GPU we remained close, sharing many good times together - lots of laughs (and oh how he could laugh) and helping each other in the journey through life. I will never forget him, but oh how I will miss him.

Asha, Ashim, and Anuj - I cannot express the sadness that I felt when I heard the news about my dear friend, Jay. I treasure the friendship we shared - being my first boss at GPU when the boys were so young to sharing the joy you both had at their weddings. Hearing him speak of his grandchildren made me smile because it made him so happy. I feel truly blessed to have called him my friend, and I know I am a better person because of him. To be so young when I began working for him, he taught me what was important, what was unimportant, and why people were most important. This world is a better place because of Jay, and I am so thankful to have known him. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace my friend - until we meet again - may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Sincerely, Michele McCue-Shaffer
