Obituary of Ann B Catrini

Ann B. Catrini (nee Brereton), age 79, of Basking Ridge, NJ, formerly of Morristown and Sea Girt. Ann B. Catrini passed away after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY in June, 1936 and attended Brooklyn College. Prior to becoming a homemaker and raising her two daughters, Ann was in charge of the secretarial pool for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Manhattan and also worked at "Women's Wear Daily" magazine. Ann's hobbies included reading mystery novels and working on crossword puzzles. Those who knew her could attest to her love of movies, music, dancing and singing. Ann was a member of the Pioneer Association of the Sacred Heart for over fifty years and devoted to the Blessed Mother. Prior to becoming ill, she cherished the time spent with her family at the beach in Sea Girt. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Peter Brereton, who immigrated to the United States from Ireland. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Vincent Catrini, and two daughters, Elizabeth Catrini and her husband James Gallombardo, and Victoria Lufburrow and her husband Mark, and grandchildren Daniel and Matthew Lufburrow, and Alyssa and Amanda Gallombardo. She is also survived by a brother and two sisters, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation on Friday, November 27 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 28 at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Church, 34 Peapack Rd., Far Hills, NJ. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations, in Ann's name, to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
