Obituary of Allen P Grossweiler

Allen P. Grossweiler, 85, of Warren, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family members at home on Nov. 14, 2015. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, N.J. 07920, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral will be held on Wed. Nov. 18, 2015 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 147 Mt. Bethel Rd., Warren, N.J. at 10AM with burial at Mt. Bethel Baptist Cemetery immediately following. Allen was a lifelong resident of Warren, N.J. He served his country proudly and honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War after which he worked at Elizabethtown Water Co. as a Supervisor of Wells and Stations. He retired in 1993 after 31 years of service. Allen was a communicant of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church for 82 years and was a devoted and compassionate servant of the Lord. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was particularly fond of gardening and taking care of his home. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 293 Mantz Cavaliere in Warren, N.J. and was an active supporter of veteran's organizations. Allen was a kind, giving and wonderful family man who's greatest pride was his loving family and he will be deeply missed. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret and brother Joseph, Allen is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary (Betty); his son Philip and his wife Nancy, his daughter Deborah Bertrand and his cherished grandchildren;, Steven, Jessica and Rebecca; his dear sister Margaret Rodgers and his sister-in-law Pauline Manno and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
