Obituary of Kathleen Sanger

Kathleen Ellen Sanger Beloved Wife, Devoted Mother, and Dedicated Middle School Counselor Kathleen Ellen Sanger, 68, of Warren, NJ, died peacefully in her home next to her husband on October 27, 2015. Kathy was born in Glen Ridge, NJ on September 20, 1947, the daughter of John and Helen McCarthy. She received her Bachelor's degree in French and Spanish, from Rutgers University, and a Master's degree in School Counseling from Kean University. She lived in Union, NJ for 13 years prior to moving to Warren, NJ. Kathy taught English at Burnett Elementary School in Union, NJ. As her career advanced, she moved to the high school where she taught French, Spanish, and English, including at the Adult School, for 11 years. Being an active participant at St. James parish in Springfield, NJ, she then volunteered to teach Third Grade at the parish's elementary school for two years prior to moving to Warren. While raising three children during the same time period, she translated foreign language legal documents for Action Translation Agency, in Union, NJ. She taught French and Spanish at Warren Middle School for 14 years. After receiving her Master's Degree, she was a Guidance Counselor for 10 years prior to her retirement. She was a longtime and courageous survivor of brain cancer resulting from her strong Catholic faith and family support. She is now joined in heaven with our first-born child, Christine, and is survived by her three other daughters, Wendy Solomon, Lisa Miller, and Lauren Baldoni, her brother John McCarthy, and her grandchildren Andrew and Leah Solomon, Cade Miller, and Charlie Baldoni, and her husband, Bob, after 46 years of marriage.
