Obituary of Elizabeth A Borowsky

Elizabeth Borowsky, A woman of deep faith, abiding love and unending depth of giving passed peacefully into the open arms of God on July 10th. She was at her piece of heaven on earth in Bernardsville, NJ. Elizabeth, Betsy, was born in Newark, NJ on 11/24/1939 to Alice Riley and William A. McDonald. Her formative years were spent in South Orange and she attended, and graduated from, Caldwell College in Caldwell, NJ where she met her husband, Kurt T. Borowsky, a graduate of Seton Hall University at a dance. They wed in 1962 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in South Orange and began their marriage overseas in Germany. During their time there, their son Kurt, and daughter Irene, were born. They returned to New Jersey and added two more sons, Patrick and Christopher to the family. Betsy and Kurt's journey included a 17 year residence in the State of Florida where they built strong and loving relationships with friends and fruitful community ties. Their love of New Jersey brought them back and it was there where they continued their support for the Nation, State, and community with involvement in a variety of business, educational, philanthropic and civic initiatives. Upon their return to New Jersey, Betsy and Kurt also added another son, Chris Parker, to their family who brought special blessings to her throughout her life. Betsy took great pleasure in tending to the details of what was important to her -- her family, friends and home. She was a member of the Bernardsville Garden Club, a Dame in the Military Order of Malta, the 21 Club book club, and ardent supporter of Caldwell College, Covenant House and a number of unnamed charities. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Kurt, son Kurt and daughter in love Rose and their three children, Christine, Nicole and Victoria; her son Patrick and his love Sandy Federico and her two children Jenna and Joseph; her son Christopher and daughter in love Ellie and their son Brendan; her daughter Irene and son in love David Schuh, and their son Ryan; and Chris Parker. She is also survived by her brother in law Eric Borowsky and his wife Betty, and their three children Lisa, Kristen and Todd and their respective families and by Louise Gallagher, and her entire family whom Betsy loved so much and John and Jan Riley. The friendships that Betsy formed throughout her life brought her so much pleasure and she took pleasure in nurturing them. The list of those that she is survived by is too long to mention but is known to those with whom she formed the ties. Visitation will be held at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S.
