Obituary of Miller N Mowder
Miller N. Mowder of Bernardsville, New Jersey, died at age 89 on May 9, 2015 after a long illness.
Miller served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Air Force. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in pharmacy and, with his brother Ernest, founded Mowder's Pharmacy which had locations in Bernardsville and Far Hills, New Jersey. After selling the pharmacies in the mid 1970's, Miller began work as a pharmacist for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lyons, New Jersey, from which he retired in 1994.
He loved to travel, and he visited many foreign countries with his wife, Helen, and his son, William. He was also very active in the community, serving as president of Bernardsville Board of Health for many years, as an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Bernardsville, and as a Major in the Civil Air Patrol. Both in his work as a pharmacist and his work in the community, his great joy was in helping people.
Miller is survived by his wife, Helen, his son, William, his granddaughters, Melissa and Meredith, his brother Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews.
