Lynn was my first grade teacher at Gillette School in 1975-76. She taught me to read and I remember her working with me especially with the letters b/d and p/q. Since completing first grade we have exchanged Christmas cards for nearly 40 years. When I didn't receive one I wondered if she had died. I remember her fondly and the memories will go on. My sympathy to her family.

I was saddened when I saw the FOR SALE sign on Lynn's house and then tried to call her and found the phone service disconnected. Then I found out that the house was being sold as part of an estate and looked for her obituary but did not find one until I finally found this website and see that she died in March. She and her family were very hospitable and I had only recently found out that her Mother, Adele died a couple of years ago. I knew Lynn's father and her grandfather and her brother who all predeceased her. She and her Mother were great adventurers and too many trips to Pennsylvania Dutch Country and to Museum of the Amer. Indian in NYC and to pow-wows etc. I miss them all.

Just learned today of Lynn's passing. A couple of us were supposed to meet for brunch yesterday, and we knew something was wrong when Lynn didn't show up. I am heartbroken. She's gone much too soon, but I take comfort that she, Adele, and Bob are together again in heaven. They are all greatly missed.

Miss Fellows was my first grade teacher, and I have been fortunate enough to have kept in touch with her, mostly thanks to my mother, who also considered her a valued friend. I was shocked and devastated to hear of her loss. I feel as though a bright light has gone out in the world. She taught me to read, the greatest gift I will ever receive in my life. She taught me passion and enthusiasm for learning. And she introduced me to Charlotte's Web, a book which even now I treasure. Her positive attitude and energy were infectious and her kindness and good humor warmed the soul. Lynn, wherever you are, may you find peace and joy.
