Obituary of Francis L Andiorio

Francis L. Andiorio, 93, Life-long Bernardsville Resident Francis Louis Andiorio, 93, of Bernardsville, died peacefully on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was a loving uncle, brother, and friend. One of 10 children, Mr. Andiorio was born in Bernardsville on November 22, 1921 to Louis Andiorio and Maria Campanella Andiorio. Frank had a keen talent for making things grow. As a young man, he worked on the Dodge estate as a groundskeeper. Then he worked in his nephew's landscaping business. Later on, he had his own small lawn cutting business, working around town mowing lawns at private residences and office buildings. One of Frank's favorite jobs was at the old Bernardsville Library, where he performed light landscaping and lawn mowing. When Mrs. Merton, the then librarian, retired, Frank did too. They had a joint-retirement party with cake and coffee and that week, Frank's picture was on the cover of the Bernardsville news, complete with an article about him and his service to the library. Mr. Andiorio took part in the WWII effort as a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in Belle Mead, NJ, performing emergency conservation work. Frank is survived by his sister Helen Andiorio, and brother Alfred Andiorio, both of Bernardsville, by many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 9:30 am to 11:00am. The rite of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
