Obituary of Robert Waldner

Robert Waldner, 82, of Basking Ridge died January 1, 2015. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, he received his BS from Albright College and his MBA from Rutgers University. Shortly after college Bob served in the military at White Sands, New Mexico. He then returned to New Jersey and was employed by New Jersey Bell/Verizon for 34 years in various management roles. Bob was an active member of The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church serving as a Deacon and Elder, as well as teaching Sunday School, serving on Mission Council and Presbytery Board and participating in the youth program - SCEEP. He was active in the Bernards Township Friends of the Library and headed the VITA program for several years. He also volunteered at the Lyons Veterans Hospital. Bob enjoyed teaching and taught basic computer classes at both the Library and Veterans Hospital. He and his wife, Muriel, enjoyed traveling to locations domestic and international, had a love of theater and music, and skied the mountains of the US and Canada. Bob was a loving husband of 58 years to Muriel (Berggren), father to son Jeffrey and wife Kathleen; daughter Adrienne and husband James, and proud grandfather to Colin and Ethan Waldner and Austin and Erin Knight. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00AM at The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge with the Rev. Maureen Paterson presiding.
