Bill was our director, our teacher, and our friend, as members of his choir for over 20 years. We still think of him often, and sing some of the music he taught us, with another choir on Cape Cod. He gave us an appreciation of classical music, and choral music in particular, that made it an important part of our lives today. He was a wonderful man to work with, and to sing with. We will miss him.

I grew up in the Presbyterian Church of Livingston and sang in the children's and youth choirs. Mr. Ruch was a very gentle and encouraging choir director, and even when I was in college and later, when I no longer lived in the area, he welcomed me to sing at church when I could. I have such good memories of him, and although he lived a long life, the world is a poorer place without him in it.

To the family of Bill.
I worked with Bill in Livingston in the late 70's until his retirement. He was an inspiration to me as a young music teacher. He was a gentleman who cared about the success of his students and the consummate musician - playing almost every instrument. I played with him at his church a few times and I knew how important the community of the Presbyterian Church was to him. He was so happy with his family and always spoke of them at work. I am truly sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Fond memories of Mr. Ruch 's music class. I still sing many songs learned in his classes at Hillside School. God Bless.
