Obituary of Louis M Pannucci

Louis M. Pannucci Retired NJ State Police Lt. On Thursday October 30th, of complications from Parkinson's Disease Born and raised in Orange, NJ Louis was known to all close friends as GE-GE. A committed Boy Scout, Lou achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduation from Orange High School, he immediately enlisted in the Navy, serving from 1946-1948 as a proud 'tin can sailor' aboard the destroyer USS Harlan Dixon. In 1955 , Lou joined The NJ Division of Motor Vehicle Inspectors, serving for many years as its PBA representative, before eventually earning promotion to Major and serving as Deputy Director. When the MV.'s merged with The New Jersey State Police, Lou was given the rank of Lieutenant, and served at the headquarters in Trenton until his retirement. After retirement, Lou worked for Essex County at the Francis Byrne Golf Course in West Orange, before retiring to King's Point in Del Ray Beach, Fl. An avid golfer, Lou played until just last year, proud of his 10 lifetime holes-in-one. Lou and his wife Betty moved back to NJ earlier this year and resided in Basking Ridge. Lou was predeceased by brothers Danny, Nicky, and Leonard and sisters Anne Korczukowski and Grace Grasso. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Elizabeth (nee D'Alessio) and by a brother John (Marie) and sisters Antoinette Pannucci and Rosie Winters. Also by a son CMDR Louis A. Pannucci USN ret. and wife Darlene of West Chester, PA and children Andrea, Maria and Alyssa; and by daughter: Elaine Comer and husband Kenneth of Annandale,NJ and their children Maj. Katherine Irish USAF/VTANG (Palmer); Maureen Bauchan (Philip); and Capt. Thomas L. Comer USA and daughter Roseann Troullos and husband Dr. Emanuel of Basking Ridge, NJ and children Elizabeth and Steven. Also by great-grandchildren Mackezine Jane Irish and Josephine Cyrena Bauchan. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 2, 2014 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Church, 184 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, Monday November 3rd at 10:00am. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
