Obituary of Eleanor Maria Harms

Eleanor Harms, a longtime resident of Basking Ridge, passed away on Thursday October 16, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving and generous spirit will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Surviving are her husband, Theodore, to whom she was married to for 57 years, and her three children: son Steven and his wife Lori of Virginia; son Mark and his wife Karen of Maine; and daughter Lisa Richter and her husband Matthew of Basking Ridge. Eleanor was blessed with seven grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Kathryn, Fiona, Isabel, Jack and Ella, and an extended family of relatives and friends. Eleanor devoted her life to creating a warm loving home, raising her family and grandchildren. She had the ability to make everyone she met feel loved and at home. She brought such happiness wherever she was, and made everyone whose lives she touched special. Eleanor had a passion for cooking, and cherished traveling with her family to the beaches of Florida and lakes of Connecticut and Maine. Eleanor was an amazing wife, mother, and friend; a joy and a blessing to everyone who had the honor of having her in their life. Her story, her smile, her strength will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:30 pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ. Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home.
