Obituary of Isolina Muriel Cubitt

Isolina Muriel Cubitt, 89, passed away at The Chelsea Assisted Living on Sunday, July 18th 2010. She was born in Gibaltar, a British territory in south of Spain. She married Donald Cubitt in 1945 and moved to England where she had four of her five children. She came to the United States in 1957, with her husband Donald Cubitt and three of her four children arriving in Brooklyn, NY before moving to the Bronx, where her youngest daughter was born. They eventually settled in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Muriel, as she preferred to be called, lived an interesting life as a Nanny before her marriage to Donald. As a teenager she travelled with her employers to Nazi occupied Germany, Switzerland, & France in the early days of World War II and has many amazing stories which she has shared through the years with her family and friends. Muriel was a member of the Daughters of the British Empire, loved cooking and baking, knitting and sewing. Muriel also loved the beach, she spent many happy days on Rehoboth Beach with friends, family and her many grandchildren. She is survived by her Daughters Tracey Taylor and her husband John of Basking Ridge, and Janice Rizzi and husband Joseph of Waretown, NJ and Son Donald T. Cubitt of Jersey City. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and her sister Sylvia Holt of Australia. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Donald H. Cubitt, and sons David and Michael. She was also predeceased by her brother Michael Mifsud. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 22nd at 11AM at Our Lady of the Mount RC Church at 167 Mount Bethel Road Warren, NJ 07059-5154.
