Obituary of Daniel Bruce Kelly

Daniel Bruce Kelly, 25, of Pittstown NJ, passed away on Saturday September 27th 2014. He was born December 24, 1988 in Summit NJ, the son of Christopher and Elizabeth (Cargill) Kelly. He attended North Plainfield and Alexandria Township schools and graduated from Delaware Valley Regional HS in 2007. He excelled academically and won many accolades in the sport of wrestling, culminating with an individual NJ State Championship in 2007. He was an extremely talented athlete well known in Hunterdon County and the State of NJ. By the time he reached his senior year he was one of the most sought after recruits in his weight class in the country, He went on to attend Harvard University. Dan had an incredible and loving heart. He could hold a conversation with anyone from a homeless man on the street to a Harvard professor. His only criteria was kindness. Daniel is survived by his parents Christopher and Elizabeth of Pittstown NJ; his brothers and sisters Christopher, James, Mary Kate and Maureen who is supported by her fiancee Mark. He leaves his maternal grandmother Janet Cargill, of Bedminster NJ; and his paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Mary Kelly of Millington NJ. He is also survived, by his loving cousins, aunts and uncles as well as a countless number of people he called friends. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Galloway and Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge NJ. Visitation hours will be Thursday Oct 2nd from 4-7pm. The funeral will be held on Friday Oct 3 at 11a.m. at St Vincent DePaul RC Church in Stirling NJ .
