Obituary of Claire T Wilson
Claire T. Wilson, 75, of the Liberty Corner section of Bernards Township, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 15, 2014. Mrs. Wilson was born in Jersey City, NJ on April 28, 1939 to the late John and Helen Langdon and grew up in West Orange, NJ. Claire had been a resident of Liberty Corner for the past 45 years, formerly of Jackson Heights, Queens, NY. A nurse at 20, Mrs. Wilson knew at age 8 it was to be her life's calling. Claire worked for the Visiting Nurses Association, the Veterans Administration Hospital and for the local physician as a registered nurse. Mrs. Wilson was a 1956 graduate of Our Lady of The Valley High School in Orange, NJ and a 1959 graduate of St. Michaels Nursing School in Newark, NJ, which she attended on a full academic scholarship. Claire was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Basking Ridge. She was an avid reader, loved traveling with her family and was known for her deep compassion, light heart and sparkling wit. She was a dear friend to many and loved by all who knew her.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, John E. Wilson, and her cherished brother John Langdon. She was the adored mother of three daughters: Mary Anne Comtois of Liberty Corner (Stanley R. Walczak), Amy Lynn Wilson of Redondo Beach, CA and Pamela Jean Henriquez of Newton (Oscar Henriquez); and doting grandmother to Lydia Rose Comtois of Liberty Corner and Nathan John Cohen of Redondo Beach, CA. Liturgy of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20 at St. James Church with interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.Visitation was scheduled at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19.
