I knew a lot about Rose from my father and her son, Ed, but never really met her. The day after her birthday, on Sunday, February 9, 2014, my father and I visited Rose in the nursing home. I marveled at her beautiful complexion--and joked it must be due to her Hungarian heritage. I stood by her bedside and we talked for quite a while and she seemed to enjoy conversing with me. I even managed to take a pleasant picture of her with my cell phone (though I don't think she realized what I was doing!) I felt very privileged to meet this woman who had so much tenacity and wit. I am so glad I finally got to meet Rose Rice. May you rest in peace, Rose!
