Obituary of Francis R Tengi

FRANCIS (FRANK) R. TENGI Francis (Frank) R. Tengi passed away on May 29, 2014 in Plainsboro, NJ. He was born on August 11, 1920, one of twelve children of John and Mary Tengi of Garfield, New Jersey. As a young man, Frank served his country in the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II. He attended college at Georgetown University, graduating in 1946, and attended Fordham Law School, passing the NY/NJ Bar Association examination in 1955. Frank had a distinguished 38 year career as an attorney with American International Group, culminating as treasurer of The Starr Foundation. In addition to his many legal accomplishments, Frank was an avid athlete, and also a member of the Madison Elks Club. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley H. (Mitchell) Tengi, son Christopher and his wife Randee of Ewing, NJ, daughter Nancie and her husband William Saphara, of Auburn, NY, and three grandsons: Ryan, Eric, and Mark. A private family burial service will be held at St. Michael's Cemetery in Garfield, NJ.
