June Malast

Obituary of June H Malast

June was born in Belleville, N. J. and grew up in Budd Lake. She attended Jersey City State Teachers College for Nursing prior to starting a family. June enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader and later working as a trainer for the Rolling Hills Girl Scout Council. She worked as a Teachers Aide for Oak Street Junior High and became secretary to the Vice Principle at William Annin Junior High. June also was an avid church goer and worked at the Wednesday afternoon Bingo at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church along with being an instructor for sixth grade CCD. She enjoyed counted cross stitch, crocheting, knitting and quilting with her "Piece Maker" friends at Bishop James Methodist Church in Basking Ridge. June was predeceased by her husband, George Malast. She is survived by a brother Charles Barlet Jr., daughters: Ann Marie O'Connor, Karen and Helene Malast, granddaughters Sara O'Connor and Jessica O'Connor O'Dell, nieces Virginia and Lena Barlet, along with other nieces and nephews.
