Obituary of Paula J Bossart

Paula Jo Bossart, 60, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, April 19, with her family by her side. Paula was born September 14, 1953, in San Diego, CA, to Paul and Berniece Haider. She grew up in La Mesa, CA, with two sisters and a brother. She graduated from Helix High School and Grossmont College with a degree in merchandising. Paula has kept in touch with several of her best friends from childhood, keeping her ties to San Diego strong. She met her husband, Jeff Bossart, working at Allstate Insurance in San Diego. After they married, they moved to Morristown, NJ, where they had their daughters, Caitie and Kristie, before moving to Mission Viejo, CA, where they had their third daughter, Callie. In 1993, Paula and Jeff moved to Basking Ridge, NJ, where they spent the next 18 years raising their family. Paula was a busy and devoted homemaker who was very involved in her children?s lives. She creatively planned the girl’s birthday parties and was a brownie troop leader for them for many years. She was an active volunteer serving as PTO President of Mount Prospect School before becoming a member of the Bernard?s Township Board of Education. She was always thinking of her family, and loved sending care packages to her girls on special occasions and holidays. Paula loved to travel with her family and her friends, and took trips and cruises to the Caribbean, the Baltic, Europe, Alaska and Costa Rica. She especially enjoyed spending time in Switzerland and Germany as well as the Kukenhoff gardens in Amsterdam. She was an avid Disney fan and made numerous trips to Disney World and Disneyland with her family. After each trip she made beautiful memory books detailing the trips. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Jeff Bossart; three daughters, Caitie Bossart, Kristie and husband, Darren Mass of New York City, and Callie Bossart of Los Angeles, CA. Also her sisters, Barbara Haider and Pamela and husband Steven Kewley all of San Diego, CA. Paula was expecting her ?rst grandchildren - twin girls, due in July to Kristie and Darren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 184 S. Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge on Thursday, April 24, 2014, 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
