Obituary of Jeffrey P Daniel

Jeffrey Paul Daniel  53, Rockaway, New Jersey   Jeff passed away peacefully on July 4, 2013 after a two-year battle with cancer.  Born in Newburgh, NY to Alice and Fred Daniel, Jeff grew up in Rockaway, a graduate of Morris Hills High School, Morris County Community College and Rutgers University.  As a CPA, he worked at Ernst and Young before opening his own companies, Capital Funding and Mortgage Finders.  More recently he worked for Maverick Funding Corporation.   Jeff’s interest in community led him to become a member of the Rotary club and he was past president of the Bernardsville Chapter.  In an effort to bring humor and charity, he traveled with Patch Adams’ clowns to impoverished countries, visiting orphanages and bringing smiles.  But it was his own children, Karleigh and Reese, which held the meaning of life for Jeff and gave him the will to resist his illness much longer than expected.   He will be greatly missed by his wife Nancy and beloved children Karleigh and Reese.  He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Krista Lefchak of Naples, Florida, Erin Elliott of Ft. Myers, Florida and Jesse Hoppe of Clinton, NJ, and their spouses and children.  The family gatherings and celebrations were frequent and fun, and he will be greatly missed by his siblings; his sister Linda Ricker, and her husband Frank of Lebanon, NJ, his brother Fred and his wife Lucretia of Roxbury, NJ and his Sister Karen Cole of Rockaway, NJ, who tenderly cared for him during his illness and her husband Gary Cole of Wharton, NJ.  He was the greatest uncle ever to his many nieces and nephews; Gina Bozza, Kyle Duffy and Michael Bozza, Brooke Dimeo, Ashley Cannon, Brett Ricker, Hunt Ricker, Lucretia Ziobro, Scott Daniel,  their spouses and children.  Additionally, he leaves behind many close friends that have been touched by his presence in their lives, many of whom he formed a special bond.   All will carry him in their hearts.   Jeff is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Alice Daniel.    Services will be held at the Gallaway and Crane 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, July 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8, with burial at St Bernards Cemetery in Bernardsville July 9, 2013 at 10:30.
