Obituary of Wilfred Clarke

Wilfred Clarke, 92, native of England Wilfred Clarke of Bemardsville passed away peacefully on May 23, 2013 at Holly Manor nursing home in Mendham. He was a native of Huddersfield, in Yorkshire, England. He served in the Royal Air Force as a radio operator during World War II. Following the war, he emmigrated to New Jersey and became a US citizen. He played the euphonium in the Salvation Army Staff Band, and enjoyed singing. Following retirement from Komline-Sanderson Engineering Corp. in Peapack, NJ where he worked from 1958 to 1985, he held various part-time jobs, including Bemardsville Pharmacy and Clark True Value Hardware. He also worked at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home for many years. In addition, he had been a volunteer for the Visiting Nurses of Somerset Hills rummage sale. He was a member of St. Bernard's Church. Mr. Clarke was predeceased by his wife Betty (Elizabeth Eggling), as well as his brothers and a sister. He leaves behind his daughter, Ellen Clarke, and grandson, David Gayle, both of Bemardsville.
