Obituary of Lora Freda- Sedlak

Lora Freda-Sedlak, age 58 of Bernardsville New Jersey, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 14, 2024 after a fearless battle with cancer.

Lora was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Orange, New Jersey on November 13, 1965 and lived in Irvington, New Jesey until moving to Livingston, New Jersey in 1972 where she attended Harrison Elementary School, Mount Pleasant Middle School, and graduated from Livingston High School in 1983.

The eldest of four siblings, Lora was always the leader of the pack … for the whole family!  Her unstoppable high energy, extraordinary intellect, decisiveness, and her engaging personality were prevalent at an incredibly youthful age and throughout her amazing, successful, and loving life.   Growing up, Lora excelled in all her academics while also working at the Livingston Bakery, Ground Round in Livingston, and was a Candy Striper at Saint Barnabas Hospital.

At Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey), Lora flourished in her studies where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Lora’s amazing, stylish, classy, fun, and caring personality shined brightly at Trenton State where she built lifelong friendships that remain strong to this day since her graduation in 1987. Her exceptionally large circle of close and tight friendships from growing up in Livingston and from Trenton State stayed with Lora and none ever drifted.  Lora was truly the friend everyone wished they had. Lora always helped and was there for her friends and family. She never said no to anyone who called her if they ever needed help … she just knew exactly what to do and did it immediately and perfectly for the moment and situation. Her caring and boundless generosity are beyond description with examples far too many to elaborate. That is just who Lora was every moment of every day and why she was genuinely loved by all and had such long-lastingfriendships.

Lora’s career started as a recruiter for Thomas Troy Group where she excelled right out of the gate and then eventually joined Computer Horizons in 1996 where she moved into Sales and Account Management. Once again Lora’s energy, passion for excellence, and her natural and genuine talent for building relationships launched Lora’s extremely successful career in staffing solutions in the Financial Information Technology Sector and then in the Pharmaceutical Information Technology Sector. In 2007, Lora launched her own Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certified Business Development & Account Management company and represented C&G Consulting Services opening accounts and managing relationships with some of the largest Pharmaceutical Companies in the industry.

Lora married her husband Paul in 2002 and their daughter Tara was born in 2004. They resided in Basking Ridge, Kinnelon, Warren, and in Bernardsville, NJ since 2012.  Paul’s nickname for Lora was “Thirty-Six” as Lora always fit in 36 hours per day each and every day raising her Pride and Joy, Tara while somehow managing her career and business endeavors at the same time.

Being a Mom was her greatest joy.  Lora was above and beyond being there for everything with Tara; Lora was the organizer and ringleader as Homeroom Mom, Dance Mom, Soccer Mom, Gymnastics Mom, Cheer Mom, and Entertainment Mom.  Lora thrived, glowed, and was even more energized as a Mom, Best-Friend, and Tara’s “Twin Sister” … so much so, that Paul often called them each other’s names!

Raising Tara amongst a tight and loving family was truly Lora’s hallmark. Christmas Eve was a given at Lora’s home every year as were practically all other holidays and birthdays!  Lora could whip up a party at her home like none other and never missed a detail and always sent everyone home with extra food! Family, friends, and guests always felt welcome and comfortable in Lora’s home. Her personality, generosity, heavy-hand with her pours, and the fun and joy that she brought to all around her were extraordinary and will be missed dearly by all.

Lora is survived by her loving husband Paul and their beloved daughter Tara of Bernardsville; her father Joseph Freda of Port Monmouth, her brother Joseph A. Freda and son Derek of Peoria, Arizona; sister Dina Fiore and her husband Robert and their children Julia, Kaitlyn, and Will of Flemington, NJ; her sister Jacquelyn Koppel and her husband Justin and their sons John and Kevin of Westfield, NJ, as well as, many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and their children who will all miss Aunt Loradearly.  Lora was predeceased by her mother Roseann Freda in 2023.

Friends may visit with the family at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home located at 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Visitation Hours on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 3pm to 7pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at Saint James Church located at 184 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 with Celebration of Life immediately afterward at The Stone House at Stirling Ridge located at 50 Stirling Rd, Warren, NJ 07059.

Lora loved flowers but her limitless generosity to others ... for which we could all only aspire to … would be best remembered with donations to:
