Obituary of Gladys M Cressman

Gladys M. Cressman of Bernardsville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by
her loving family on January 31, 2024.

A long-time resident of New Jersey, Gladys was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on
December 31, 1926 to Franklin and Mona Henry. She studied art at the University of
Kentucky and went on to marry Fred M. Cressman of Riegelsville, Pennsylvania.
While raising three daughters, Gladys founded the Wise Old Owl Preschool in
Mendham and was its director for 20 years. She later worked as a receptionist for the
United States Golf Association in Far Hills. Gladys had been a member of the Order of
the Eastern Star and most recently was a member of the congregation at Community
Presbyterian Church of Chester.

A beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, Gladys was an assertive, fun-loving
woman with many interests. She was a great cook, loved to entertain, enjoyed travel,
particularly to see the races at the Kentucky Derby and The Oaks and to the casinos.
She was a charter member of One by One, ran bridge clubs at the Bernardsville and
Bedminster libraries, was an avid Mahjong player and always enjoyed tailgating at The
Far Hills Races.

Predeceased by her husband Fred and daughter Linda (Cressman) Busarow, she is
survived by daughter Carole Dixon and her husband Robert Dixon of Far Hills; daughter
Mona Fortunato of Chester; son-in-law Kevin Busarow and his wife Jane of Dayton,
Ohio; grandchildren Adam Dixon and his wife Euree; Cameron and Cassidy Dixon;
Brad, Katherine and Andrew Fortunato; Jonathan Busarow and his wife Nicole; and
David Busarow; as well as great-grandchildren Gideon Dixon and Simon, Matthias,
Timothy and Daniel Busarow.

A memorial service for Gladys will be held at Lamington Presbyterian Church in
Bedminster on April 6, 2024 at 11:30am. Final interment will be at Durham Cemetery in
Durham, Pennsylvania.
