Obituary of Albert E Kessler
Albert Emanuel Kessler was born on June 21, 1927. He was raised in New York City and served in the United States Navy during World War II After graduating from NYU University Heights Campus in 1949, and NYU Dental School in 1953, Al married the love of his life, Barbara Goodman in Forest Hills, NY in 1954, and they soon found their way to New Jersey, to open a dental practice. For most of his adult life, “Big Al” lived and practiced dentistry in Millburn, New Jersey. After 43 years of developing a thriving dental practice where he was beloved by his patients, even the nervous ones, Al retired and he and Barbara moved to Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Al always gave back to his community, and during ‘retirement’ was a faithful volunteer with the Leisure Learning program at Bernards Township Library and was the volunteer manager at Sage Eldercare Workshop in Summit, NJ for twenty years. In every aspect of life, Al was a true gentleman. His memory will be a guidepost for his two children and their spouses, Bruce Kessler and Jill Flanick and Nancy Kessler Netcoh and Frank Netcoh, grandchildren Steven Netcoh and Leigh Hidalgo, and their spouses MacKenzie Netcoh and Jose Hidalgo. “G Pop’s” love will also be passed to his great granddaughters, Hope Netcoh, Victoria Hidalgo and Lyla Netcoh.Al was a stoic man of humility, humor and compassion, and will be missed by all who knew him during his 96 years of life.
A memorial service will be held at Temple B’nai Jeshurun, 1025 S Orange Ave, Short Hills, NJ at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sage Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Summit, NJ 07901.
