Our family is so saddened to learn of Dan Mehan's passing. One of the kindest men we have known, a true family man, a wonderful neighbor and best friend to my parents John and Joan Burns. I reflect fondly on moments shared with Dan early as I started my corporate career and needed advice. He was always willing to lend an ear and provided sound advice that helped me get through my early and toughest years as an entry level account executive in advertising. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family at this difficult time.

Dear Helen and Family, All of the events that could speak to the enduring friendship Joan and I’ve enjoyed with you and Dan and members of your family are too numerous to capture in the context of this tribute. We consider ourselves most blessed and beholding to our Creator for the fact that they happened. Albeit we’ll miss much not having Dan with us here on Earth now he’s in Heaven where peace prevails and suffering has no place. He’s in fact won his last earthly battle and parades now midst a pantheon of saints. Both Joan and I and members of our Burns family who were blessed with the privilege of sharing friendly quality space time with Dan and you ( two of our best friends), express to you and all your beloved family, our sincerest condolences on Dan’s earthly passing. Though we’ll miss him much we’ll seek solace in the great memories he’s made for us. And when we look to the stars, as we often do, they’ll be one more star to guide us - and it will be Dan’s. Helen and the entire Mehan family, we were saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. We will always remember his smiling face at Mass and I (Joseph) will always remember him as a fellow reader of the Word at Saint James. We pray that the Lord will grant you and your family His comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding as you remember Dan. We have requested that the Priests of The Sacred Heart in Hales Corners, WI include prayers, for the repose of Dan’s soul in Heaven and for comfort and peace for your entire family, during their September Novena of Masses to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
