Obituary of Kenneth O Helland

Kenneth Ove Helland, 87, of Bernardsville, New Jersey died on January 12, 2023.

Kenneth was the son of Ingolf and Harriet Helland, brother of Norman and loving
husband of Joan Evelyn Helland. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, children Kristin,
Karl and Karin, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Kenneth was raised in
Brooklyn, NY and served in the United States Navy. He moved to Ridgefield,
Connecticut to raise his family and later to Bernardsville, New Jersey where he
lived for over 30 years. He worked for AT&T until his retirement. Throughout
Kenneth’s life, he was a dedicated member of each church he attended. He
especially loved working with the youth. He could always be counted on to help
wherever it was needed. Kenneth had many interests including gardening, music,
electronics and planning his next project. He most loved playing with his
grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family
and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 19 at Basking Ridge
Presbyterian Church at 2pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the
family asks that any donations be made to either Heartworks, 19 Morristown
Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07920 (njheartworks.org) or to the Basking Ridge
Presbyterian Church Friends of Music (brpc.org).
