Obituary of Albin Strazdas
Albin Francis Strazdas, 90, long-time resident of Bernardsville
Albin passed away quietly at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Born on April 11, 1932 in Somerville, Massachusetts, Albin was the son of Paulina
and Ignas Strazdas, both of whom were born in Lithuania and immigrated to the
United States as young adults.
Albin grew up in Cambridge, Mass and attended Matignon High school where he
was a member of their first-ever graduating Class of 1949.
He attended Northeastern University in Boston, Mass and graduated with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Later in life he would
serve as a Director of the National Council of Northeastern University.
Albin met his wife Marlene (nee Buelow) while they were both in college, and
were married on July 24, 1954. He enrolled in the Army shortly after they were
married, and served for two years stationed at Fort Dix, NJ.
Albin enjoyed a successful 30-year career with the Bell System. He joined
Western Electric in 1957 working as an Engineer at the Merrimack Valley Works in
Massachusetts. He retired as Vice President of Planning and Administration from
AT&T Network Systems in Morristown, NJ in 1989.
Albin and Marlene had four children, Pamela, Paula, William and Robert. The
family moved to Bernardsville in 1979.
Albin was predeceased by his daughter, Paula, and wife of 66 years, Marlene, and
is survived by Pamela, William and Robert. Burial will be private. The family asks
