Obituary of Arthur E Anderson
A memorial service will be held at Grace Fellowship Chapel, 375 Main St. Bedminster at 11 a m, Friday Oct 19th with a "Celebration of Life". "Artie" was born and raised in Charleston, SC and was the eldest son of Arthur E Anderson Jr. and Sylvia Anderson Lantz. He graduated from Bishop England High School in Charleston SC and Furman University in Greenville, SC.
After graduating from college Artie married his college sweetheart Jeryl in 1979 and embarked on a sales career which took him all over the continental US and well as Europe. He worked in the consumer package industry for multi national companies such as Unilever, Coca Cola and Dannon before forming his own specialty food importing company. Although hard working and passionate about his career he was completely devoted to his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Whether it was coaching his daughter's softball team, playing the role of principal in his son's band's music video, or flying kites at his wife's family beach house in the Outer Banks of NC he was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
Artie's passion for playing sports in high school and college stayed with him through the years as he always enjoyed an active life style. He particularly loved working out at the YMCA with his buddies and cherished the friendships that were cultivated there. He was an outgoing, friendly, person who shared his joy for life with so many others. There was nothing that he looked forward to more than greeting folks as they came through the doors of Grace Fellowship Chapel on Sunday morning. His positive outlook, courageous spirit, and faith in God were inspirational to many of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Jeryl, and children, Stephen and Janelle, he is survived by his mother Sylvia Anderson Lantz of Mt. Pleasant, SC and his six brothers and sisters: Debbie Anderson Blevins of Charleston, SC, Tricia Anderson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Kenny Anderson of Houston, Tx, Tommy Anderson of Mt. Pleasant SC, Susan Jones of Nashville, Tn, and Richard Anderson of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is also survived and will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews as well as his brother in laws Glenn and Wayne Kendall. Predeceasing him were his father Arthur E. Anderson Jr, his mother in law Ethel Kendall and his nephew Michael T. Anderson.
