Obituary of Andrew E Chabak, Jr.
Andrew E. Chabak Jr., loving father and husband, retired musician, and Master of Data and Analytics, 64, born in Elizabeth, N.J and a lifelong New Jersey resident, entered into eternal rest on September 5th, 2022.
Andrew was a graduate of Linden High School Class of 1976 where he was the center on the varsity football team and catcher for the varsity baseball team. He received hisBachelor of Science Degree in Finance & Accounting from Seton Hall University in 1980, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was VP of the Business Fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. He went on to receive a Master of Business Administration in Finance, Marketing and International Business from Seton Hall University. He was a proud alumnus of the university, often commenting on how his blood was “Pirate Blue.” In more recent years, he was a volunteer teacher on the school’s Marketing Research Council to give back to the university that he loved so much and to share his passion for learning.
Andrew identified early on that computers and technology were “the way of the future” and continued his education, earning a Master’s degree in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Andrew had an expansive career and held numerous senior positions in marketing, international finance, and information technology systems. He began his professional career at AT&T Bell Laboratories, thenworked as a Project Manager (PMP), and went on tobecome a senior executive at various pharmaceutical companies. For over 20 years, he specialized in global data and analytics for Fortune 100 companies. He was a disciplined problem solver, eloquent presenter, and recognized for communicating key IT initiatives with composure and confidence. He was a master of data warehouse and created a website, Doctor of Data, to help educate others about data and analytics.
From an early age, Andrew had a love for music. He was a talented lifelong trumpet player and played in his father’s band, “Andy Chabak and His Orchestra”, for several years. Andrew also loved fishing and would keep a rod in his car just in case he found the perfect spot to cast a line. He also had an affinity for sports and was an avid Yankees fan. Andrew left a mark on the life of everyone he met with his humorous stories and thoughtful gift giving.
Andrew E. Chabak Jr. was a loving and caring father to his two daughters, Christina and Annie; a caring husband of 22 years and later friend to Mary Chabak; supportive soon to be father-in-law to Sean Conley; beloved brotherto his siblings, Joanne Goncalves (Jack), Nancy Chabak, and Robert Chabak (Lisa); kind uncle to his nephews Christopher Goncalves (Erika), Robert Chabak and nieceNicole Chabak; and cherished longtime friend to Jim and Jeannie D’Pete. He was predeceased by his father Andrew Chabak, Sr. and his mother, Anna Karaman Chabak.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeralservices. Visitation will be Friday, September 9, 2022 from 5 P.M. – 8 P.M. at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 184 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ at 9:30 A.M. Interment will be atRosedale Memorial Park, 350 E. Linden Ave., Linden,NJ.
