Obituary of Suzanne L Traub

Suzanne Lumis Traub, 91, a longtime Millington resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 17, 2022 at her home in Millington where she lived for over sixty years. Visitation will be at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, N.J. on Friday, January 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 22nd, at 11 am at All Saints’ Episcopal Church,15 Basking Ridge Rd, Millington, N.J, with pre-registration and 50% capacity. The funeral service will also be available via zoom through the Church’s website, www.allsaintsmillington.org. Both the visitation and the funeral service are open to masked and vaccinated attendees. Burial will follow the funeral service at St. Vincent Cemetery in Stirling. Suzanne was born in West Chester, P.A. on January 31, 1930 to Sarah and Thomas Lumis. She completed her nursing training at Chester County Hospital before moving to NYC to complete a post grad pediatric training program in Manhattan run by Skidmore College. She married the love of her life, Edward M. Traub, on May 14, 1955. After living in Newark, they moved into their newly built home on Fawn Ridge Dr in Millington in October 1960, where they made great lifelong friendships while raising their four children. She resumed her career to pay for her childrens’ college educations, working as a nurse for 18 years with the North Jersey Blood Center. She enjoyed giving back by volunteering at events to benefit the Millington Fire Department and later in Far Hills to benefit the Visiting Nurses Association. She also enjoyed great fellowship with her good friends at All Saints’ Church where she was a dedicated Office Angel volunteer, a food ministry driver, a Vestry member, a support for the All God’s Children special needs service and a baker extraordinaire for many parish events. She traveled extensively with her husband and visited all seven continents. But much of her joy was through spending time at her house on Long Beach Island where she made great friends and built lasting memories with her husband Edward who preceded her in death, her children Edward (Enid), Thomas (Holly), Peter (Toni), and Elizabeth (John), eight grandchildren (Peter, Cara, Jenna, Tyler, Weston, Sarah, Megan, Kimberly) and two great grandchildren (Luca and Nico) who all survive her.
