Obituary of Margaret Jarvis

Margaret Kent Jarvis passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the age of 93. Margaret was born February 19, 1928 in East Orange, New Jersey, to Helen and Francis Kent. Margaret grew up in Livingston, along with her brother Frank. She attended West Orange High School, followed by Endicott College, in Beverly, Massachusetts. After many moves throughout the country, Margaret lived in Basking Ridge, New Jersey for forty seven years before moving to Brightview Senior Living, in Randolph, New Jersey six years ago. Margaret was an active member of St. James Parish in Basking Ridge, a regular volunteer at the Morris Museum, a member of The Woman’s Association for Morristown Medical Center, and in later years enjoyed her time at Butlers of Far Hills. Margaret was a loving mother to four daughters; Margaret Jarvis Hathaway (spouse, Richard S. Hathaway), Helen Jarvis Cleveland (spouse,David G. Cleveland),both from Atlanta, the late Elizabeth Jarvis Murphy (deceased spouse, David L. Murphy) of Beverly, Massachusetts, and Nancy Jarvis Stewart( spouse, Gregory D. Stewart) of Morristown, New Jersey. She leaves behind eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at St. James Church in Basking Ridge, Saturday January 29, 2022 from 9:00-9:50AM, with a mass following at 10:00AM. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
