Obituary of Ethel Kendall
Ethel Lillian Stumper Kendall, 93, of Bernardsville, NJ peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 11th at home. She was the wife of the late Robert Henry Kendall. Ethel was born in Brooklyn, NY to John and Ethel Stumper. She attended Brooklyn College. Ethel delighted in her family and was a joy to all who knew her. Her laugh was contagious, her cooking delicious and her heart was full of love. She enjoyed traveling and entertaining and was a generous and gracious hostess to many family vacations over the past 50 years in Cape Hatteras, the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In her later years, she enjoyed going on cruises and in 2001 treated her entire family to join her on a seven-day cruise over the Christmas holiday. Ethel loved the Lord and was a child of the King. While she was an active member of Millington Baptist Church for nearly four decades, she actively attended Grace Fellowship Chapel in Bedminster, NJ with her daughter and son-in-law in recent years. Ethel is survived by her children and their spouses: Glenn and Donna Jean Kendall of Greensboro, GA; Wayne and Virginia Kendall of Roswell, GA; and, Jeryl and Art Anderson of Bernardsville, NJ. She is the beloved sister of Doris Stumper Sculley and treasured grandmother of seven grandchildren: Deborah Sabotka, Pamela Speich, Bobby Kendall, Stephen Anderson, Robert Kendall, Janelle Anderson, and Katherine Kendall. She is also survived by her six great grandchildren: Emma Jane and Lily Schlageter, David, Timothy and Joseph Speich, and Townes Kendall as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and close friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 14 at 7PM at Grace Fellowship Chapel, Bedminster NJ. A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 14 4-6PM at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. The burial will take place on August 15, 2012 at 10AM at the Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ. Ethel will be placed to rest alongside her husband at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
