Obituary of Joseph H Duff

Joseph H Duff, 86, of Basking Ridge, passed away on Saturday August 4th, 2012 after a brief Illness. He leaves behind 2 daughters Deborah (Fred) Simko of Raritan, NJ, and Laurie Laricci of Denville, NJ, 2 sons, Michael Duff of Motive, NJ and Brian Duff of Basking Ridge, NJ, 7 grandchildren, Michael John, Ricky, and Joseph Simko, Anthony, Rick Thomas, Jessie Laricci, and Robert Duff,8 Great Grandchildren, and his sister Cathryn Banks of Morris Plains, NJ. Hews predeceased by his wife Abigail in 2001. In his earlier years Mr. Duff graduated high school and entered into the US Army during WWII where he served with distinction as a Sergeant in the 76th Infantry being awarded the Army's Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Metal, the European Victory Metal, After the war he met and married Abigail Lukash also of Elizabeth, NJ. Mr. Duff attended the Newark College of Engineering and Stevens' Tech Institute earning a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Liquon Chemical Company, Graver Water Conditioning, Gulf Degremont, and Burns and Roe. He was the President of Water Technologies Inc untilretiring. Mr Duff had a passion for canoeing, hiking, and swimming. He was a life member of Liberty Corner First Aid Squad and also worked as a volunteer ambassador at the Lyons VA Hospital for 15 years. Our father is very much loved by all and will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held on August 11, 2012 at 12pm at the Somerset Hills Memorial Park Crematory, 95 Mt Airy Road, Basking Ridge, and NJ07920.
