Obituary of Sophia C Pienik

Sophia C. Pienik, of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the age of 102. Born March 11, 1919 in Newark, NJ she is the daughter of the late Francis and Katherine Mikolajczyk. In addition to her parents, Sophie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Henry Pienik who passed away in 1985. Sophie was also preceded in death by her 2 sisters, 6 brothers, son Arthur Pienik, and grandson Armani Riccardi. Sophia loved to crochet and knit blankets for her loved ones. She was an avid cook and each Christmas could be found overseeing the family’s annual “pierogi day” tradition. Sophia is survived by her sons Leonard Pienik of Basking Ridge, NJ, Henry Pienik and wife Nina, of Downingtown, PA, Ronald Pienik and wife Annmarie, of Hackettstown, NJ; and her daughters Patricia Pienik of Roselle Park, NJ, Theresa Riccardi and husband Rodney, of Summerville, SC, and Carole Pace and husband Joseph, of Galloway, NJ. Sophia is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
