Obituary of Carl J Quick, Jr.
Devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Pioneer of Automatic Data Processing
(ADP), 94
In the early hours of Sunday morning September 19, 2021, Carl J. Quick Jr., of Bernardsville, NJ,
passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on the North side of Chicago, Carl attended St. Ignatius of Loyola. He started his career at
Glore Forgan INC., and moved his growing family to South Orange, NJ, to work out of NYC. He was hired
by ADP and developed the brokerage services unique to this industry. Carl retired after thirty eight years
of dedicated service and success. He received many awards from ADP during his prestigious career.
Carl was a philanthropist in every sense of the word. Donating time and talents to various
charities including but not limited to, St. Jude, Interfaith Ministry Appeal, St. Vincent DePaul Society,
Chemo Care, Diocese of Metuchen, as well as the underserved in the Philippines and Ecuador. He helped
build numerous churches and schools in Ecuador, and here in the United States, in New Jersey and
Tennessee. He was invaluable in the reopening of St. Benedict’s School of Newark, NJ. His hard work has
helped St. Benedict’s flourish to this day, scholastically, athletically, and in notoriety.
Carl was the loyal husband of seventy one years to Adelle (Mannos); loving brother of Barbara,
and the late Barnard, Margaret, and Ruth; loving father to Christopher (Loretta), Michael (Theresa),
Joseph (Suzanne), Karla (Charles), Laurie, Therese (Paul), Aloysius (Tim) (Mary), Peter (Ana), Andrew
(Carmella), Carl III (Pamela), and Thomas (Rebecca). Grandfather to thirty treasured grandchildren and
great grandfather to sixteen.
His greatest joy was being outside, surrounded by family. Always ready for a celebration,
welcoming any and all who came through the door. He was the devoted patriarch of the Quick family.
His monumental faith was unwavering for 94 incredible years and lives on in his legacy.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
