Obituary of Lucy Mae Howat

Lucy Mae Howat, (nee Rochester) 91, passed away on August 3, 2012 at the Raritan Health and Extended Care Center, Raritan, NJ. Prior to moving to Raritan, Lucy was a long time resident of Basking Ridge, NJ. Lucy was born in Camden, NJ and attended Camden High School, class of 1938. She later received a degree in English Literature from Rutgers-Camden, and was a substitute teacher for Bernards Township. Lucy was a member of the Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, and a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star of NJ, Pearl Chapter No. 79. Lucy was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, James C. Howat, Jr. She is survived by her two children, James C. Howat III, of East Windsor NJ, and Cheryl Juliano, of Bridgewater, NJ. She is also survived by four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday August 4, 2012 at 10 A.M. at the Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home 101 South Finley Ave Basking Ridge, NJ followed by entombment in the Somerset Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Basking Ridge, NJ.
