Obituary of Katherine A Lampa

Katherine Anne Lampa of Bernardsville, formerly of Brooklyn, the beloved daughter of Glen and Patricia Lampa of Bernardsville, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2021, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. She passed away surrounded by her family and close friends. Katherine was born in Morristown, NJ on August 1, 1983, and was the first baby born in the newly constructed maternity unit at Morristown hospital. Katherine was a 2001 graduate of Bernards High School where she was a varsity field hockey and basketball player serving as co- captain for both teams. She graduated with honors from the Tisch School at NYU in 2006 and recently completed a post- baccalaureate program in science at NYU to qualify for admission into medical school. While attending pre-med classes and working,  Katherine also partnered with geriatrician Dr. Barrie Raik at Weill Cornell Medicine on facilitating a virtual senior center intervention called Being Well.  She is survived by her loving parents Glen and Patricia Lampa, brother Jason (Daphlie), sister Jennifer Lampa- Gellerman (Shane), nephews Jay and Leo Lampa and Will Gellerman, partner Edward Stillwagon, Uncle Craig and Aunt Teresa Lampa, Aunt Susan DiJulio, cousins Mia Pavlov, Nicole Nix, Nicole DiJulio, and Suzanne Garber. She was predeceased by her grandparents Raymond and Anne Lampa and Arthur and Genevieve Sarno, and her uncles Bruce Lampa and Michael DiJulio. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Funeral service on Friday, March 4, 2021 will be private for family.
