Obituary of Shirley VanBuren

SHIRLEY VAN BUREN Shirley Van Buren passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at The Bridgeway Long Term Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ, following a lengthy illness. Born on Feb. 14, 1924, in Chicago, IL, she was 88 years old. Mrs. Van Buren was a resident of Aptos, California for more than 30 years. She had been living for the past four years with her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Joseph Povolny, in Basking Ridge, NJ prior to moving to The Bridgeway. Mrs. Van Buren and her husband, Clayton, were avid golfers and members of numerous golf clubs. They both loved their church and were active members of Christ Lutheran Church in Aptos. Mrs. Van Buren is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Pamela and Joseph Povolny of Basking Ridge, NJ, and two loving grandaughters, Kristen and Julia. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Clayton Van Buren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 1 at Christ Lutheran Church: 10707 Soquel Dr., Aptos, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Dale Sollom-Brotherton will officiate.
