Obituary of Irene Madeline Noonan

The world became a little less interesting and colorful with the passing of Irene Madeline Noonan, 89, who passed away peacefully May 4, 2020. She was born October 18, 1930 in Newark, NJ, of Carl and Madeline Bodino in East Orange, NJ. The eldest of three, she loved dance, art, cake decorating, photography, making her clothes, and engaging with others. Creative, independent, curious...she always marched to her own beat. She divorced young with three children, then managed to see them through their journeys at Duke, UVA and Wharton, while part-time earning her own teaching degree at the College of New Jersey major in Art with minor in Physical Education. She taught art and phys ed in inner city Trenton, introducing legions of kids to dance, Chihuly glass, the Grounds for Sculpture at Princeton and all forms of music and art...always encouraging her students to find their own creativity. She was also very interested in medical knowledge, and an early student of homeopathic and natural treatments. Irene is survived by her three children, Lisa, Michael, Mark and Sasha, as well as her sister, Ann, and her four grandchildren, Kyra, Lainie, David, and Madeline.
