(Germuska) Richardson passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2020 while receiving the loving care of her family. Margaret was born on June 24, 1923 in Bernardsville, NJ. to Mary and John Germuska. She was a lifelong resident of Bernardsville and was a graduate of Bernardsville High School, member of the Bernardsville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband William A. Richardson Sr in 1998 whom she was married to for 49 years and to this day still considers him her “boyfriend”. Nothing meant more to Margaret than spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an accomplished seamstress, baker, cook (especially her much desired meatballs and home baked kolache’s around the holidays), sharing her prized secrets of baking with her children, her knitting and crocheting projects, her love of reading, her desire to shop and the trips to the various casinos. With her grandchildren she loved to play any board game and was always trying her hand at cards, badminton, Bocce, socializing with her fellow Ridge Oak neighbors and enjoying a great glass of red wine at the end of the day while tackling her Find-A-Word puzzles. Margaret’s faith was the center of her life. She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bernardsville for 96 years. She will be remembered by her family as a woman of tremendous faith that she willingly shared with family and friends including attending church on Sunday’s, holidays and praying the Rosary daily. Her deep rooted faith and belief in Our Lord led her in a full life with many blessings. Margaret is lovingly survived by her children William A. Richardson, Jr and his wife Marge of San Antonio, FL; David Richardson of San Antonio, FL; Diane (Richardson) Polles and her husband Gene of Kinnelon, NJ; Susan Richardson Munns and husband Kevin of Westerly RI; Elizabeth (Richardson) Forrester and husband Barry of Riverview, FL; Kathleen (Richardson) Gilpin and husband Scott of Bernardsville, NJ, 15 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grand Children; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings: Samuel, Julius, Helen, Mary, Madeline and Agnes. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm at the Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home in Basking Ridge on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 immediately followed by internment at Holy Cross Cemetery. A memorial mass and celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at a later date when family and friends can gather together again to rejoice the life she lived. We would like to thank all the wonderful people at the Galloway and Crane Funeral Home for all their guidance-sensitivity-and understanding during this most difficult time for our family, all of the nurses-doctors-support staff of Morristown Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of our dear mother during this time and all of the wonderful people at Ridge Oak in Basking Ridge. We are very saddened by our loss of her presence here on earth, but we rejoice that she is in heaven united with her husband and family.
